He currently serves as the Senior Deputy General Manager (SDGM) – ICT & Group Head of ICT at People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), where he has been instrumental in driving digital transformation, cybersecurity, and financial technology innovation. Throughout his career, Mr. Gunasena has led major IT infrastructure developments, including the computerization of PLC’s core business operations, the implementation of cutting edge digital solutions, and achieving ISO 27001 certification for ICT governance. His expertise in technology driven process optimization has significantly contributed to the company’s growth, operational efficiency, and industry leadership. As Group CIO of People’s Leasing Group, Mr. Gunasena has spearheaded digital transformation strategies that have saved millions for both the company and the country while earning national and international recognition.
